Haverhill, MA – The Winthrop Vikings came into the night undefeated and in this game against the Masconomet Chieftains, it took 49 minutes and 56 seconds for them to leave undefeated. Senior forward Petey Silverman got the Vikings started with 11:07 left in the first when he threw a puck he received from Mike Holgersen to the front of the net that hit some traffic and squeezed past Chris Sacco to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead. Masco answered less than three minutes later on an unassisted goal from Miles Mireault.   Masco took the lead less than a minute later when they went tic-tac-toe: sophomore forward Jack Fabiano scored from senior forward Alan Weitzman and senior defenseman Brady Forde. That’s how the period would end, with the score 2-1 Chieftains. Shot totals were Winthrop 7, Masco 5.

The Vikings came out buzzing in the second period tying the game just 1 minute and 24 seconds into the frame when senior forward Robert Rich retrieved a sophomore defender Colin O’Leary dump in and tucked it in the back of the net to even the score at 2-2.  Masco would regain the lead with 3:54 left in the second as senior forward Ben Merrill found the back of the net on the power play. Just 20 seconds later the Vikings would even the score at 3-3 as juniro forward Phil Boncore tipped a senior defender Hunter Fife shot into the net.
