Neutral Zone, LLC – the largest and most respected amateur hockey scouting platform in the world, is expanding operations in the 2024-25 season and looking to make several hires across the company (listed below)

Launched in 2016 Neutral Zone is a first-of-its-kind hockey scouting site that identifies ranks, and profiles NHL, CHL, NCAA (Div. 1 & Div. 2/3), Canadian University Sports (USports), junior, midget, high school, prep, and bantam hockey prospects from across North America. The innovative site leverages top-quality, unbiased scouts to profile players and track their progress over the course of their amateur careers. The company has grown to over 100 scouts in every primary hockey market in North America covering both men’s and women’s hockey. NZ made its intial step into the European markets this past season and will continue to expand and develop our coverage there as well.

Neutral Zone is the exclusive amateur hockey scouting partner of RinkNet, the leading scouting technology provider in the sport of hockey; with a client list that includes NHL, CHL, NCAA D1, USHL, agents and high level junior leagues. The ideal candidate will have experience playing, coaching or scouting, preferably at a higher level. You must have an eye for talent, a descriptive writing style and be able to intelligently evaluate a player’s attributes, strengths and weaknesses and how they compare to other players.

Director of Women’s Hockey (Remote Full or Part-Time)

Job Description: Director of Women’s Hockey is responsible for running the NZ Women’s hockey division. This position is multi-faceted and oversees the entire operations of women’s hockey at NZ from scouting tournaments to managing the scouting staff to content to admin. We are open to making this one full time position or breaking it down into two part time positions; Director of Scouting and Admin. The Director of Scouting would be mostly hiring/recruiting scouts, managing the scouting staff, overseeing all rankings and ratings, attending all the major showcase events and writing up scouting reports on prospects. The Admin position would be editing reports, assisting on social media, running email campaigns, handling travel and coordination of scouting staff and managing a budget. 

Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate would have playing, coaching or scouting experience, preferably at higher levels of the game. The Director needs strong leadership abilities, communication and organizational skills to run a scouting and admin staff and an ability to evaluate and rank prospects. The candidate will need to be hard-working, able to travel often, work weekends, have strong writing/evaluation skills and most of all, have a passion/love for Women’s hockey.

Regional Scouts

Job Description: A regional scout is responsible for a league or a geographic region where they live. Scouts will attend tournaments and individual games, identify and evaluate prospects and assist the scouting directors with rankings and star ratings. Flexible schedule.

Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate would have playing, coaching or scouting experience, preferably at higher levels of the game. The scout needs to be hard-working, descriptive writing style in their player evaluations, detail-oriented and willing to spend long hours in rinks. Our best scouts are humble, curious and relentless in their pursuit to breakdown a player’s individual skill set and how that ranks among their peers.

Primary areas of need:

Mens: Ontario, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Jersey/Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, New England, Arizona/Texas, Iowa.

Womens: Ottawa, Quebec, British Columbia, Alberta, Minnesota, Michigan, New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania, New England 

Video Scouts

Job Description: A video scout is typically a scout who lives outside of a major hockey market who can assist our regional scouts and scouting directors with video coverage of tournaments, showcases and major events. We also have a team of video scouts who monitor junior hockey leagues throughout US/CAN and do a game of the week write up and scouting report. Flexible schedule.

Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidate would have playing, coaching or scouting experience, preferably at higher levels of the game. The scout needs to be hard-working, descriptive writing style in their player evaluations, detail-oriented and willing to spend long hours in rinks. Our best scouts are humble, curious and relentless in their pursuit to breakdown a player’s individual skill set and how that ranks among their peers.
