NCAA: Geneseo, Western New England and Plymouth State Add Recruits

’99 F Bennett Stockdale to SUNY-Geneseo for 2020

A native of Nepean, Ontario, Stockdale has a veteran of the CCHL and the NAHL. This season for the Johnstown Tomahawks, he scored 12 goals and added 30 assists in 50 games and he has 17 goals and 22 assists in 60 games last season

NZ Scouts on Stockdale: “He isn’t going to be a puck-possession finesse player, but he’s strong on the walls, he finishes his checks, stops on pucks and plays a direct and effective game. “

’01 D Zach List to Western New England for 2020

List is a Florida native who has been with the Canterbury School for the last two seasons. This season he appeared in 28 games on the blue line and registered one goal and 12 assists. Prior to his prep career he played at South Florida Hockey Academy.

NZ Scouts on List: “He moved the puck well in transition as he seemed to sense where he wanted to go where the puck before turnovers were created. Gaps were good and outlets were made with proper pace to good spots. His strength is that he processes the play beyond the play.”

’99 D Nick Poirier to Plymouth State for 2020

Poirier was ranked No. 55 player in the NCDC in our 1999’s National Rankings report from last week. The Quebec native was with the Twin City Thunder this past season where he registered seven goals and eight assists in 43 games.

NZ Scouts on Poirier: “Our notes say that he is tough to play against and defends with intensity and grit. We saw that again but we also saw the Quebec native play well with the puck on his stick. He had his head up, showed a heavy shot and walked the offensive blue line effortlessly. He also made a pretty backdoor pass in the zone and could have had another assist as well.”
