NCAA: Bunting commits to Air Force, ASU Adds DeAngelo

2000 Sean Bunting (F) commits to Air Force for 2021

Bunting is from Phoenix. He appeared in 54 games for the Shreveport Mudbugs in the NAHL this season, where he scored 10 goals and added 14 assists while also accruing 102 penalty minutes.

Last season he suited up in 50 games for the Langley Rivermen and had four goals and 11 assists with 118 penalty minutes.

Bunting played for the Phoenix Jr. Coyotes from 2013-16. From there he moved to the Northwood School through 2018 before playing one season for Sioux City in the USHL in 2018-19.

NZ Scouts: Bunting is a good-sized forward that plays a hard-nosed style and takes the puck to the net on the attack well. He got pucks to the net often in both games and was able to do so with his skating and power moves to beat defenders. He excelled at driving wide and making moves to allow him to get effective shots on net while driving wide. He forces opposing defenders to take penalties as he finds ways to cut in front of them with possession of the puck as well. Bunting’s style is one that is effective and with a little more accuracy on his shot will lead to quite a few goals in the future.

2004 Michael DeAngelo (F) commits to Arizona State for 2023

DeAngelo is from Ithaca, N.Y., the home of Cornell, yet he’s headed to west to play college hockey in 2023. This past season DeAngelo traveled among a few different teams, including the U.S. NTDP U17 team and Dubuque in the USHL. Prior to this season he was a standout for the Chicago Mission.

NZ Scouts: Above average size forward, good skater, battles, vision, and skills.  Michael is a well positioned player, great stick, and anticipation.  With his smarts and vision, Michael seems to be the right places at the right time.  On Saturday he was the high forward in the offensive zone when a puck deflected off a shin pad and Michael took a one-timer from the slot for a goal.
