WHL: Portland and Victoria add goaltenders

The Portland Winterhawks, have acquired goaltender Mason Dunsford from the Tri-City Americans for a conditional fifth-round selection in the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.

The 2003-born goaltender played 23 games with the Americans over the last two seasons. During the 2020-21 campaign, he recorded a 5.30 goals against average and an .857 save percentage. Dunsford was originally selected by Tri-City 118th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospects Draft.

The Victoria Royals have signed AJHL, Tyler Palmer (2003) to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. 

Palmer played in 13 games for the Spruce Grove Saints last season where he recorded a 3.68 GAA, 0.892 SV% and one shutout. 

“We’re delighted to have Tyler join our organization,” Victoria GM/head coach Dan Price said. “His trajectory in recent seasons has been impressive. He is a hardworking and dedicated athlete, as well as a tremendous person. We’re looking forward to getting on the ice with him at training camp.”
