NCAA: Trinity Adds a 3.5-Star Goalie for 2022

4.5- Star – Full Scholarship D1/ 1st Rnd CHL who makes an immediate impact at NCAA/CHL level

4.0- Star – Scholarship D1/ 2-3 Rnd CHL Draft player who will play as a freshman/rookie

3.5 Star – Solid D1/Mid Round CHL Draft player who will contribute but may take some time

3.0 Star – High-End D3 prospect or Low Round CHL Pick who could develop but is missing areas in his game

St. Scholastica

’01 F Tristan Shewchuk (★★★) to St. Scholastica for 2022

Shewchuk is a Sask. native who moved down to the NAHL this past season. In 51 games with Springfield he totaled 24 points (8g, 16a). Prior to the NAHL he spent three seasons in the SJHL with Humboldt and Melville. Over a span of 113 SJHL games he scored 45 goals and added 42 assists for 87 points.

In our 2001 National Rankings, Shewchuk was ranked No. 4 in the SJHL.

NZ Scouts: “He is very dangerous and plays in every situation. He has a lot of skill and can beat you in multiple different ways.”

Concordia (WI)

’01 F Nathan Gilleshammer (★★¾) to Concordia for 2022

Gilleshammer is from North Dakota and moved around the NA3HL the last two seasons after graduating from Grafton-Park River High School.

This past season he appeared in 47 games for the Sheridan Hawks, Mason City Toros, and Northeast Generals. In total, he scored 19 goals and added 30 assists for 49 points. With the Generals – where he finished the year – he had 15 points in 12 games.

Gilleshammer played for Team North Dakota at the AAA level (14U, 15U, 16U) and played four seasons of varsity hockey.

Concordia (MN)

’01 D Tal Halliday (★★¾) to Concordia (MN) for 2022

Halliday had a breakout season for the Granite City Lumberjacks this season in the NA3HL. In 42 games he provided 45 points (13g, 32a) from the blue line. It was a breakout offensively for Halliday, who had 22 points in 38 games for the same team in 2020-21.

Halliday is a Minnesota native who played at Roseau High Shcool. He has played in the NAHL before settling in with the Lumberjacks over the last two seasons. In his final 80 games of junior hockey, the 6-foot defenseman had 67 points (17g, 50a).

In Neutral Zone’s 2001 National Rankings, Halliday was ranked the No. 152 in the league.

Trinity

’01 G Devon Bobak (★★★½) to Trinity for 2022

Bobak is a huge addition for Trinity. As a 3.5-star recruit, Neutral Zone had him pegged as a goaltender with Division I potential.

Bobak is a 6-foot-4 goaltender from Ohio who had a very strong NAHL season for the Shreveport Mudbugs this past season. In 42 games, he posted a 2.09 GAA and .921 save percentage.

Prior to the NAHL he played for the Twin City Thunder in the NCDC. In 16 games two seasons ago he posted a 3.45 GAA and .896 save percentage.

NZ Scouts: “He has great size and is very active in playing the puck for his team. He has decent athleticism and used it well in both games to make some difficult saves he shouldn’t have made.”
