Quinn Robelle Internship Program Welcomes Intern Class of 2023-24

The Neutral Zone Quinn Robelle Internship Program is proud to announce our four newest additions to the intern team, with the 2023-24 intern class. We proudly welcome Adam Brice, Payton Cahill, Haley Egan, and Anselmo “AJ” Nocito. Each intern is excited to contribute their unique experience to Neutral Zone while learning and focusing on the areas that will help them flourish in their future careers.

When asked about this year’s internship class, Director Alex Sorichetti had this to say, “I’m really excited to work with this year’s internship class. They all bring different experiences to the team and are all coming from different backgrounds. It’ll be interesting to see how we can help each of these bright individuals develop and grow throughout the program.” After having been through the program himself, Sorichetti is always amazed to see how this program grows, develops, and changes with each new class that comes into the program.

Our first intern to introduce is Adam Brice. Brice is from Prosper, Texas and is currently a senior at the University of Arkansas, where he is studying Sports Management, and serving as a student assistant for the ACHA club hockey team. Adam played hockey through his freshman year of college when he was attending Texas Tech University. When Adam transferred to Arkansas, he chose not to pursue playing for the team, and instead, gain experience working with the club behind the scenes, which will hopefully translate to a future career within the game of ice hockey. Additionally, Adam is a tenured level four official with USA Hockey, with experience at the USA Hockey National Championships, and at the junior hockey level.

I am excited to learn about a new aspect of the game. Scouting is something that I have been interested in for some time now, so it will be an amazing experience getting to work with the Neutral Zone team and developing the skills necessary to become an effective scout.

Payton Cahill is originally from Cottage Grove, Minnesota, and is currently a Junior at Wake Forest Univerity, where she is majoring in History on a pre-law track. While attending Wake Forest and pursuing her studies she is also a student-athlete, where she is a goalie on their women’s soccer team. In her freshman year, she also co-started the club Athletics in Law among the student-athlete population, as she saw a need for more education for postgrad opportunities and pathways beyond sports in her community. After her undergrad she is planning to attend law school, presumably to become a sports agent. She has always grown up with hockey in her life playing through high school, and it is highly prevalent in her family. She is beyond excited to be a part of this internship which can not only bring her closer to a sport she loves but combine it with her love of writing as well.

Next up is Haley Egan from Montreal, Canada who has recently completed her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sports Studies from Bishop’s University. While completing her studies, she participated in an internship with the athletic department and assisted with game day operations as well as some social media. Her main interest within Neutral Zone is improving her skills with social media by creating graphics with different sources such as Canva. She is also interested in learning about video scouting and all that goes into it.

When asked what she was most excited for in this internship, this is what Haley had to say;

What I am looking forward to most in this internship is building new connections with various people across the country as well as learning new skills within the hockey industry. I am also looking forward to working within a team of individuals with similar interests and learning from them as well.

Finally, we have Aj Nocito who has spent almost all his time dedicated to hockey on various levels including playing collegiate club at Neumann University, coaching and reffing for local youth organizations, and freelancing in his off time with opinion pieces on his personal website. AJ, now a sophomore at Neumann University, is on track to complete a four plus one Sport Management Degree. He hopes to continue his journey into the scouting world, learning the ropes and working alongside the knowledgeable team here at Neutral Zone. His versatile background also includes working with Living Sport, an International Sports Program, as an intern for the 2023 NHL All-Star Game in Miami, Florida.
