Neutral Zone and the hockey world mourn the loss of Sean Tallaire, who passed on March 12th. He was a highly respected Scout for Neutral Zone. “We are all saddened by Sean’s death. He was always polite, professional, and fun to watch hockey with. He was one of the most talented evaluators we have ever had.” stated Director of Scouting Brendan Collins
He was a player who left his mark at every level. From his collegiate days at Lake Superior State University to his professional career, Sean displayed exceptional talent and passion for the game.
At LSSU, Sean etched his name in history. He was a vital member of the 1994 NCAA Championship team, earning the prestigious title of tournament MVP. His accolades didn’t stop there. He shattered school records with 207 career points, the second most goals ever scored by a Laker, and a staggering 171 consecutive games played. His relentless work ethic and leadership earned him a well-deserved spot in the LSSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2021.
Sean Tallaire’s legacy extends far beyond his playing days. “I loved hearing him talk about players. He valued skill and grit and loved hockey. He was so humble that I didn’t know how good a player he was until Brendan told me.” Director of US Scouting Brian Murphy stated.
