Lawrence Academy vs Milton Academy

The first of two ISL Keller matchups between Spartans of Lawrence Academy and Milton Academy Mustangs. Lawrence got the scoring started with a point shot from senior defenseman Drew Bavaro (Bradenton, FL) assists coming from Sam Colangelo (Stoneham, MA) and Tyler Young (Lancaster, MA). At the end of the first, Lawrence Academy led 1-0.
In the second, Milton took advantage of the several power play chances and potted one half- way through the period with a cross ice look from Quinton Fox (Fonthill, ON) to Jeffrey Lee (San Jose, CA) and it was all square 1-1 going into the third period.
Lawrence Academy came out strong in the third period carrying play down the Milton end. About 10 minutes into the frame, Braden Doyle (Lynnfield, MA) put one home from the point to give the Spartans the 2-1 lead which ended up to be the game winner. Assists coming from Jesse Pierce (Cumberland Forest, ME) and Holt Oliphant (Northbrook, IL). A few minutes later, LA newcomer Holt Oliphant got on the score sheet again with his first goal of the year with the assist coming from Ethan Bastien (Natick, MA).
Brandon Milberg (Thornhill, ON) earned his first prep school win turning away 17/18 shots and Erik Voloshin (Bedford, NH) makes 38/41 saves in the loss.
Lawrence moves to 2-0 on the year and 1-0 in ISL Keller play with another big in league match-up coming on Saturday at Belmont Hill. The Mustangs drop to 0-2 on the season with a big in league home & home coming up with Governor’s this weekend.
